Drum Draw Update.

Moving with the times App Frod Sports & Social Club (AFSSC) has conducted an on-line survey across a large number of randomly selected Drum Draw members to ask what sort of prize structure they would like to see this year. The key findings from the survey were i) maintain the top monthly prize at £10,000 (6 lucky members have won this since the new financial year started in April); ii) keep the minimum prize at £100 every month (there will be 40 £100 prizes each month as well as 8 £250 prizes and 2 £1,000 prizes); and iii) spread the joy at Christmas. The final point was made very clear in the survey. With an overwhelming majority of more than 2:1, members wanted to change the Christmas big prize from just a single BIG winner of £100k (with second prizes down at £1,000) to a top prize of £50,000 (still a huge win), have 3 big second prizes of £10,000 with 12 third prizes of £1,000 and the remainder of the prize fund spread as far as possible at £100 each. All these recommended changes will be implemented for the 2020/2021 Drum Draw season.

The Drum Draw is AFSSC’s vital fund raiser that enables the club to provide the sporting and leisure facilities at Brumby Hall and Cemetery Road (Redbourn Club) for all its members and for future generations of steelworkers and their families and the wider community. The coronavirus crisis has put a tremendous strain on many organisations’ finances and AFSSC's is no different. The drum draw is an ideal opportunity for members to assist in ensuring facilities are maintained for the future, with the potential for winning big cash prizes for themselves and their families.
